Just found out a friend of mine I used to talk to on msn died recently... I havnt had very many people die in the span of my life time. When people died, it was usually when I was at an age when I didnt quite understand what it was. Or it was people who I was related to but dont remember talking to. Recently, there's been Nikki and Steph that I've known that have died recently. Steph died a while ago, but its still hard. Nikki died about a month ago and I found out today. Not taking it very well.

On top of that, there's my girlfriend. I dunno what to do. We seemed perfect for eachother at the start. She seemed so much like me. Now I realise that I'm going out with her, not because of interest, but because I want to find out who I am more. And she really isnt even there for me most of the time anyways. Whenever we hang out, she always brings her friends, so I dont usually have the chance to open up to her. I'm wondering if this relationship is worth it.

So that's my whiny problems for the day.

that sucks.... knowing people that have died is always just hard.... there's no way around it.... you've just got to hold out for a while and the pain will subside.... eventually...

as for the girl.... you guys are probably young....

don't worry so much about having a super serious relationship right now.... have fun and enjoy life while you can..... once you are grown up you will realize that wanting to seem grown up isn't worth it...

act like a kid while you are allowed to

which means live your life as a kid and don't worry about love and such things until you are older and when relationships will truly matter and have actual meaning. Not to say that relationships you have before college won't have meaning but you face less stress and saddness if you realize that the probability of being with someone from 16-26 is so damn small, it's not really worth it to have a relationship. When you are young, your life hasn't settled down yet, which means the life of the person you like hasn't settled down yet.

So, yeah...for me, I didn't realize how much good life was when I stop trying to find someone for me. That is why geeogree and I say you should live your life since relationships don't have the real meaning like they have say after college and you are only in your teens once.

Aww... jeez, I'm really sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how it must feel to go through the times you're seeing now. The only advice I can offer up is what neo and geeogree said: enjoy your youth while you still can. Before you know it, it'll be all over, and there won't be anything you can do about it.

So what kind of things can I do to enjoy my youth? (Remember: I am against alchahol, drugs, and premarital sex)

just hang out with your friends...like go camping, paintballing, work on a project. anything. Once you are older, you probably won't have opportunities like this again. I'm 20 now and I have difficulty finding time to do stuff with other people. Not sure what will happen when I'm out of college but I know I'll be occupied with work such that it isn't the same like being a student of high school

Do what I do. I love life because I play games; I have loads of friends online and I maintain an active lifestyle. Get into an activity (I like pro wrestling. Real pro wrestling ROH style; not this WWE crap.) While you may feel like your life is going into the crapper, it's probably just a temporary problem. I can't really say much since I've never been depressed.

Enjoy life while it lasts.

There's always something to do. Go walk around town, explore. It's fun. Then again where I'm at it's also tres cold right now.

Well what do you and your friends normally do?
Like MathOnNapkins said, you can find things to do. Heck, learn to ride a bike with no hands or something like that, it could be fun.
That doesnt just mean "act like a kid." You can have fun and be happy without acting irresponsibly.
I'm sure you know that.
Good luck, man.

Enjoy life as a minor while you still can. All you really need to worry about are grades and housechores. People like us deal with our boss, professors, insurance, bills, maintenence, and even our own children.

When you become a father one day, you'll know how much you really need to work for.

As far as any of us can tell, we only have one life to live. That just tells us that we must live it well and make the right choices. It's sad but it happens and I'm sorry to hear that. I don't think they were ready to die yet and it's unfortunate.

Sounds like my town and me.

I've always wondered how people find out if their online friends have died? Well I'm not much help right now but if one of your friends has Halo get a LAN party going. I know that could keep you entertained for a couple of hours with that.

My grandmother died about 5 years ago and I felt not that mad or sad I don't know why maybe because I don't know her that much, but she is in heaven and looking down on me. If I were you protect your girlfreind at all cost if she is that important.

That's why it took a month to find out.

Halo LAN parties are fun. Had one on new years.

You've got a good thing going, Neb. Maybe you should spend more time finding out "who you are". I wish I could be certain about my identity. Maybe it's too early for you to try to establish it, though. There's no set answer you can get.

I feel depressed all the time, I have a lot of chronic stress problems. I can empathize with you, there are things I do that I'm sure are a good idea at first, but slowly become a worse and worse situation as time passes. As for opening up, don't really worry about expressing your emotions. We're all at a stage in our lives where our emotions aren't hard-coded just yet, and if anything they're just jelly that needs to be put into a donut.

They're not whiny problems for the day, man. Death and emotion are two real issues a lot of people face constantly. Just remember that, as you can see here, people will listen to you. If you don't feel you're able to open up to your girlfriend, just open up to us. And if you're really unhappy with your relationship, then just get rid of it. You're only about 1/5th of the way through your life, after all.

Well how are you holding up after the break-up Nebetsu? I can surely say that I'm still pretty down in the dumps after mine. It's going to be two weeks come this tuesday.

sorry to hear that--maybe things will work out in the end for both of you. It appeared that you two needed a break from the relationships stuff so maybe it was due. Anyways, enjoy this time and remember that you still have the rest of your life to find that very special someone and you are only this age once
