I'm almost done my 1st demo of my hack. But, I ran into a tiny problem. I... um... can't figure something out. I already searched all the old threads, the "Questions And Answers For Newbies", but I can't get the stupid events to unravel!!!! How do you know which event will trigger the right event? I've gotten the events pasted on the dark green paths but I cannot get them to work. HELP!!! P.S. Don't just post a link to the Overworld tutorial please, I've read that already. Thanks in advance. Let's say you want Event 1 to activate. Go to the properties of a level dot (In OV Editor) Go to "Activate event upon finishing of level" (or whatever the hell it is) and choose 1. Yatta ze! |

I don't exactly understand your question, but if you're trying to figure out which level triggers which event after it's beaten, open the Overworld Editor, go into Layer 1 16x16 Editor Mode, click the level tile you want to trigger the event, click the yellow level button up on the toolbar (the one to the left of the broken castle), and then look in the second drop down list. That shows you what event will be triggered. To actually set the event for the right number, go into Layer 1 Event Editor Mode, and press page up or page down, while keeping an eye on the status bar at the bottom of the screen, until you come to the event you've made. It'll say something like 'Event 0x3' or similar in the status bar, just so you know what you're looking for. To actually make the event take place in the game, do the steps in the first paragraph, but click on the level you want the event to take place after. Once you have the window open, in the second dropdown list select the event number you figured out earlier. Hopefully that's not too confusing for you I think it's what you want / need, so you just have to understand it |
