For awhile ago there were rumours that Microsoft actually blocked certain software, becuse of that program not working correctly. As if Microsoft blocked it for Wine.

And it seems to be true.

Wine is a quite intresting program, I succefully ran Command and Conquer: Tiberian dawn. (the first CnC game) in Wine, and it ran it more stable than Win XP, and supported Network unlike Win XP.

...althought it ran very slow. Then Fedora core 2 have some issues with Wine.

And I'm successfully posting in IE6 via Wine, on Slackware. I told you I was installing it

It thinks it's being run on Windows 98. Windows Update even brought up 60 "critical updates"
I tried changing it to Windows 2000 or XP emulation, but IE6 doesn't like that

I really wish I could run Zelda Classic under Wine, since they're apparently not releasing the Linux version that they announced a couple months ago...

Microsoft is blocking a lot of things that are being used for dual boots. Like when you go into root and all in Windows you cannot drag and drop folders and all. My teacher at ITT says that they are just doing this because it is the only fight they can use to fight back. Andyways I wish Microsoft would just grow some balls already.

Ya' know...looking at the thread title, I first wondered if somewhere there was a subtle reference to Don Perion, etc. tucked somewhere in WinD'ohs or somethin'. Figures. It's what I get for knowing zilch about Linux....

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about... can you explain?

And yes, Microsoft's only way of fighting superior and free software is by doing things so they're less compatible with Windows. Usually by purposefully rejecting it even though it'd otherwise run fine. With non-free software, Microsoft often just buys out the organisation. (Although with the old IE v. Netscape browser war, AOL killed Netscape instead of MS )

I knew this was about Linux... but I was still hoping that Microsoft have finally implemented a "STOP: You are too drunk to use your computer" error message. Hopefully one that appears before I go on wine fueled posting rampages, leaving a trail of incoherentness and profanity in my wake....
