| I've wondered about this for some time, I've noticed a lot of people hitting on the full stream "GLOBAL WARMING IS GOING TO KILL US ALL!!!!" but I've also paid attention to those that just say it is fake. I'm not sure either way, but I want to know if anyone here believes or doesn't, in global warming. |

| I believe global warming is real--but the culprit of it i'm not sure off. It could just be a cycle that the earth goes through or it is something brought on by our discovery of combustion to do things other than keep us warm... | |||

| It's definitely real and we might not see its effects in our lifetimes, but our children/etc... not sure. :\ At least Kyoto's in effect but Canada has a lot of work to do to get to its standards, last I checked. Of course, the treaty isn't that effective without the United States joining, so... |

| Well, the chief culprit of global warming is excess C02 emissions. But some studies have shown that ecological systems, such as evergreen forests, utilize the excess gas to increase their productivity and grow. There is of course a saturation point to this, but many plant communities have demonstrated a reaction to our activities. | |||

| I won't deny that the world may be warming up currently... but I'm sick and tired of Kyoto and the "scientists" that say that if we don't do something about it that the world is going to end and millions will die.... and about Kyoto: it is a HUGE waste of money in Canada.... and it is going to do next to nothing (0.06 degrees less of an increase over 25 years or something like that) without the US on board.... there isn't much of a point for Canada to be doing it.... in fact... Canada is just going to lost out because of this.... it's just a waste of money |

I think we are just in a giant cycle that continously repeats itself. Remember when MT. Saint Helens erupted, a long time ago, it put up more carbon things into the air than mankind has done in their entire history. |

| Temperature averages fluxuate every year. However, anything could cause temperature fluxation. In addition scientists have only data for about the past 150 years. Even then, the data doesn't apply to all regions of the world and thus isn't 100% indicator as global warming. | |||

| we can try to increase air quality all we want in Canada, but unless the US does the same.... we are going to be getting a lot of that same air up here.... maybe not in Alberta specifically.... cause there is nothing of significance directly south of us.... but, definately in the East it wouldn't make much of a difference... plus.... the cost to get Kyoto going (which has only been "allocated" not spent) is going to be a huge burden on the economy.... I just see more bad than good out of it.... there has got to be a smarter way to deal with the problem..... |

| yeah, okay.... there have been laws put in place on certain things like SO2 and the like.... we don't enjoy having that float around.... but stopping CO2 isn't like stopping SO2.... the costs are so much higher and the benefits in my opinion are not outweighing the costs..... I heard the number... $1000/household/year for Kyoto to be implemented over the next 20 years.... seems like a little too much to me |

If we could arrange everybody to the right places and jump in the right order, we could it.  Seems to me like a silly exercise....As to global warming...it happens. Goes up and down...all the time. General trends can and have lasted longer than human history. This is by no means the hottest the Earth has ever been or even close to it...even taking out the Hadean and Archean Eons. |
