I just saw this last night, and I gots a question for any and all that saw it.

What happens at the end of the non-director's cut? And is there narration throughout the entire movie?

Because I saw the director's cut, which leaves many questions unanswered, but was supposed to be the original ending.

Then again, things aren't made better by the fact that the movie was a bastard child of 3 scripts, leading to a finished product that leaves so many fucking questions that are plain unanswerable in general.

It's been a while since I've seen the original cut (which I'll hafta track down an LD copy of eventually), but I think the ending was where they drive off into the sunset, so to speak. The director's cut ends with them walking onto the elevator (I think). It's an awesome movie, either version. In some ways, I love the claustrophobia induced by the lack of narrative, which lets you really take in the visuals and music and sounds without thinking too much, but the theatrical cut is overall better. I think it's kinda best to watch both, in order of their release, because that way you know what's going on when you watch the director's cut. Anywho, great movie. I found the director's cut DVD at Wal-Mart for only $3.88 .

Yeah I read in trivia that Ridley Scott used extra footage from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining to make the ending, which seems weird, given the extremely urban and futuristic envirorment.
