Um, there is another OV editor at Zophars Domain, but it sucks. Why the hell would you want something else? If you are looking for easier, this is easy at its best.

SMW ASM isn't special ASM, it's just ordinary Super NES ASM, since, uh, that's what it's written in. Any ASM tool that targets the SNES processor (I forget what it's called now) should be fine.

It's 65816, some people like to stick a 'c' in various places though. ASM isn't something you can just make an editor for though, it's the actual program code of the game. Unless you know how to write some simple SNES program code, you probably won't be able to do much with it.

Zophar.net should have some programs that can convert the hex into readable ASM code, though you won't be able to insert it back into the ROM without some reformatting. For small hacks, you're better off just using hex.
