I havent had to have mine removed yet, but Im sure I will just like everyone else at some point.
My friend had all 4 of hers removed not too long ago, and she only took one day to recover. When she got back from the hospital she couldnt talk or eat, and she was on meds for pain. But the next day she was talking and able to eat soft foods and drink anything but soda. She said she wasnt in a whole lot of pain either. She never had problems beyond the first day.. I guess she just got lucky.

For anyone that had them removed, did you have any bizarre dreams? I heard that happens a lot, I dunno. My friend dreamt about flying on a magic carpet with a flower talking to her.

Uh ... well, no I don't recall flying on a magic carpet with a talking flower.

It was strang though, they'll give you a special pill that'll basically knock you out by the time you get to the appointment. (You take it 2 hours before you go, and of course someone must drive you there and back).

I was already effected when I was getting ready to go and getting in the car, I felt pretty drowsy.

This is the weird part. The only part of the surgery I can rememeber is when they put some things into my arm to measure my heart rate, etc, then they put that gas nosel thing over my nose, and the next thing I could remember was I was in my bed.

I had no idea how I got home, and can't remember any of it. Apparently my mom helped me walk around, but I seriously don't remember any of that.

That sounds very... excruciating...
I have'nt had any pulled out yet, whether I should be thankful or not. I remember the pushing pain braces gave me many years back. Would'nt enjoy finding the similarity I'm sure.

Mine still haven't come out and I have a dentist appointment Wednesday. I can't feel anything on the sides of my mouth so no concern yet.

Wouldn't mind if they stayed dormant. (Yes, that is possible.)

Yeah, seriously ... can they do that?

Just kind of seems idiotic and stupid if they "don't" make you sleep.

Then again that was probably normal a few years ago, possibly I guess.

Sometimes you can get assets in your mouth, which are even worse.
In the old days you did'nt have any pennicilain which could cause lots of agony.

i'm hoping to have antasthetic that isn't local

as for the sooner the better attitude towards wisdom teeth--it depends on how developed they are. As long as the teeth hasn't grown roots, then it is all good and you can wait. My wisdom teeth don't have roots yet so it's alright. Also, it's pretty dangerous to take them out too early because in the process of taking them out, a nerve could be hit and that is way worse than waiting another year before you can take them out when you know they are hurting you already.

But its not the old days anymore.
So how do they determine if you get knocked out or not? That's interesting.

They can, you just have to be sure the nova doesn't wear off. Incidentally, it costs a heck of a lot less if you don't go under, as the stuff they give you runs a ton for just the little bottle they put into you.

I know that my student health care plan covers a percentage of dental costs, so if I ever had the option of going under I likely would if it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. (Just an arm.)

I've only gotten nova whenever I've gone - except once in Grade 1 when they pulled a tooth.

I'm allergic to pennicilain... life literally sucks for kids like me, I usually get doctors saying " Nothing a little pennicillain won't take care of" then the see I'm allergic and have to prescribe some experimental drug that doesn't work worth a shit.

Yes neotransotaku, all four.

And now after my mouth "heals" I'll have to go back to wearing both bottom and top wire retainers for 24/7 for the next few months.

Oh really? Don't jump to conclusions X.

I have done all of the above, save for my wisdom teeth, but I do know they are coming.. I know how much the other stuff hurts, espcially that damn pallette expander.

Also, considering this is the first time in my life my teeth have looked reletively normal, I'd say the payoff is way worth it.

Mine just came in a while ago, I didn't even really notice. It wasn't until they were almost all the way in and started pinching the inside of my cheeks that I realized "hey, there's a new tooth there ". That only lasted a few days, and there hasn't been any problems with them since. Now my front teeth on the other hand...

Nova really doesn't bother me - I can have fillings done and that without any problems.

My only problem is that Nova lasts a REALLY long time for me... 6-8 hours.

Well I don't have to get mine out unless they bother me says from my dentist. Didn't have that much pain when they were coming in either. Nova was used on me once when I had to get a tooth pulled so a tooth could grow in properly I think. As for fillings go I need nothing and never had cuz my dentist is awesome like that.
