I also did not sticky it.
And, to add to the conversation- PSP looks very nice, but also fragile. |

This is a profound mystery. |

Either you go down and sticky the DS thread or we don't have this thread stickied.
To be honest, there wasn't any reply for two weeks when Fyxe replied. So it's beyond me how it was stickied from the start. |

It was mentioned before? I thought it got stickied inbetween your last post, made eight days ago, and my post today. *Blinkity*
I figured the other PSP thread had a slightly different tact than this one, mainly concentrating on, well, what's wrong with yours if you got one. Which is a different direction than this thread has gone (which seems to consist of PSP praising at the moment).
EDIT: But I guess the other thread changed mostly to general PSP discussion, oh well. |

Did this post really have to be made?
As mentioned before, I wasn't the one who sticked this thread, and I'm not sure why it is, save for maybe, just maybe, someone won't come along and post another PsP thread (like what happened a few days ago). |

I paid $35 for my PsP, and I'm happy with mine. I just got my third game the other day, and I'll be getting a 2nd movie next week. I don't regret turning in my games, my gameboy, and everything else that I traded in to get my PsP either.
All I have to say, is: to each is own.
If it doesn't last another year, I really don't care, since I am happy with mine, but I have no doubts about it dying anytime soon. Especially with the Final Fantasy goodies that are in store for it, the instant messaging, the TV tuner, and so on.
I still need to try to go online with Wipeout (we even got an e-mail from corprate office about it) but I haven't been to a wirless hot spot yet. I mean, I was at one yesterday, but we were too busy and I didn't want to be rude or anything at the time. |

Not at the current price it's not. :\ There was actually an article in one of the school newspapers last week which trashed BOTH systems, saying neither of them are worth having for another year at least.
PSP sold 600,000 units in its first week, BTW. That falls under the "good" category, but not under the "industry monopoly" category - yet.

im making this post with my PSP right now! using wipeout pure's web browser you can get on any site. its probably old news to you guys but the PSP is worth having just as much as the DS is. I'm guessing Sony has another firmware update to show off at E3 which probably includes a better web browser than what is currently on the market...
...damn, PSP API is hard to type with... |

personally i'll probably never even come close to buying one of these. It really doesn't seem too bad, it's just the simple matter that I'll never get my money's worth if i decided to purchase. I don't really have much downtime where i'd even be able to play this. If i'm traveling, i'm driving and i don't think i'm going to power up and play at every stop-light. Other than that... i'd be working, out with my friends, or programming (in which case i have a TV right next to me with a much larger screen and a DVD player, not to mention cable).
and the DS simply looked terrible. |

According to Gabe and Tycho, true lords of this world, Lumines is total justification for this. |

I think that's as large as they could get the screen in terms of both design and media playback - the UMD's are only 1.8GB at the moment so you have to avoid blocky images.
The games AREN'T that bad for a launch lineup, I've said that before. There's nothing huge, but there should be one or two games that suit your tastes. |

Well, if you're able to look at movies, I'd expect the PSP screen to be... Decently large.
But unless the games get a lot better, then it's basically just a wannabe iPod/DVD player. I'll probably pass unless they DO come out with good games.
On a side note, even though so many people complain about the durability of Sony products, I have a Sony monitor, and it's lasted longer than about 3 or 4 monitors, over probably at least 5, maybe even 10 years. NOW HOW'S THAT FOR DURABILITY, BICHES? |

I know it's stupid, but I can't get over the PSP's huge screen. It does NOT need to be that big. It just seems clunky and bad :x |

Somehow I don't think the PSP game warranties cover taking the UMD out of the case. In fact, I'd bet there's a part of the manual that says "DO NOT TAKE THE UMD OUT OF ITS CASE". (Yes, all in capitals most likely.) |

Hehehe.
Anyway, had a kid who came back with his PsP and told us that his game wasn't working.
He had taken the disc out of it's protective case. You're suppose to leave it in there, it's to make sure that the disc stays safe (there is a small window where the eye reads the data). And those dics are hard to get out of that case...he must have been trying a bit too hard. |
