Adventure Game (Net Yaroze/PSX) is the best Odball PRG I've ever played, and the best thing is.... it was free! It even had a specil 60Hz mode if you completed it |

This should qualify as oddball...
Lone Wolf. It's in fact not a videogame but rather a series of books. Basically, you go through different sections of the book, keeping track of your character's stats and inventory. |

Sometimes I think Earthbound is the best RPG.
I can agree to that. Plus it was also my very first RPG I never really got into RPG's until I had a Super Nintendo for a year.
Anyways one that has yes to be mentioned is Landstalker on the Sega Genesis, I know it's not an RPG more of an action/rpg but anyways barely nobody knows about this game and I think it's one of the best games ever made for the Genesis. |

The first game I think of when I see "Oddball RPG" is Earthbound. But if you mean RPGs that often aren't mentioned, then your best bets are:
Paladin's Quest .hack// (though it's probably become famous enough to not be considered oddball anymore) SMRPG (it's also pretty famous though) Ys 3 Seiken Densetsu 3
Ah, hell, most of these are pretty famous. I might as well throw in Bahamut Lagoon while I'm at it. And the Terranigma series is good, too. But the best games usually are pretty famous, man. Star Ocean and Ys series usually aren't mentioned though, and they're great. |

The Soul Blazer, Illusion of Time, Terranigma trilogy is very good, and quite odd. |

RoboTrek was awesome, and had great music. SNES Paladin's Quest was really cool too, try it. SNES Arcana was great for it's time (if you can get used to the dungeon crawling). SNES The Legend of Schaherazade, I loved this game when I was a kid. NES

Ha, my friend got hooked on Robotrek a month or so ago. He still hasn't beaten it yet, though... |

Robotrek. That is a really screwed up RPG. |

Would Musashi be an action/adventure/RPG? (Gotta hate those multi-genre games)
Ys was made for a lot of systems - I think the TG-16 CD version was one of the prized ones. Plus it's in English. |
