Freewebs doesn't allow external linking? It does. The extension has to be caps, though. So any .png files are .PNG... or that is what I think it is...

Back on topic, GY has many hacks made. They were all good. If I was bored of one of them, I just went on to another. This is going to be a good one, though. Hopefully the best.

cpubasic13: I strongly suggest you get rid of that background image. It does nothing to improve the look of your layout, and the text is hard to read when it interferes with the status bar. I keep having to highlight your posts to read them, which is BAD.

Take the palette from Demo World (the 1st hack from Fu) and for the brown ground, use palette 7.
That's what I did.

Hope you get the palette right, when not pm me and I will help you.

I wanted to fix the background colors, but when I tried to they interfered with the custom tileset of the level and gave the objects strange colors. Maybe I should just change the BG altogether.

I like the screenies very well.
Keep up the good work, but I see one palette error in the last pic.
The BG color isn't so good as the original SMB3 ones.
But you fix that, right.

I've also used the gfx that I used in SMW+4 and SMW+5, the new mushrooms and fire power vegetable, and the new coins. Occasionally, I like to do minor gfx changes myself. But my passion is in the level design, heh heh...

Very nice pics! Also nice to see that someone used my ExGFX.

In the BS Zelda temple, there is a one-block wide column which seems like it is supposed to go on further... Maybe use the right side of the walls there too? (Just a suggestion)

Yea, that's because the ExGfx catches people's eye, and the level desing isn't really seen untill they play the hack.
If the Graphics don't look good, most people don't download it because it doesn't seem to make a great impression just by looking at it.

Well, for better or worse, cosmetic issues are important.. I mean, that's why you use ExGFX, right? Nowadays, you could have the best level design in the world, and no one would play your hack if it didn't have new graphics.

Yes, I dread doing the overworld. It is not as fun as designing the actual levels. That's where you get all the gameplay anyway, so I usually take the most time with levels instead.

It looks quite good. I remember not being overly impressed with SMW5+, but for some reason, this looks... promising.

And yea, the OW. You've never been great at that, which seems strange... just don't make them so blocky?

Do you think that too many gfx from the ExGFX Workshop won't be good? Afterall, it's probably the best I can do graphic-wise.

I've always sucked with overworlds too. That's why I refrained from redesigning it in SMWLL! But then an unchanged overworld wasn't good enough, oh well. I hope I can pull off a halfway decent OW this time.
