Ok!
Just go to www.romhacking.com and download a tutorial there. Read it first and you'll be amazed how easy this actually is. |

When you open up your ROM, click on the search button & go to scan relative. Type the word your'e looking for in the window where it says Find What: then after that it'll find the word your'e looking for in hex. Then click on generate table & give it a name, save it & that's it TBL file, BABY! |

I have Translhextion already! Hmm... maybe I'll have to check and see just how this thing creates tables. Thanks, guys. Improving the storyline will really rev up the beauty in my wonderful creations. |

Table? You mean, like a Thingy Table? I don't even know what a Table is supposed to be in Rom hacking terms... This Hex Editor can open tables, but I don |

Hex editors can edit absolutely anything, if you know how what you're trying to edit is made up.
The easiest way to find text in a game is to get a hex editor with table support, if you have the table, or relative searching, if you don't. |

How would it be possible to edit the text in a game using a hex editor? I'm trying to change the storyline for a certain game by changing what the text says in the prolouge demo. I have a hex editor, but I have no idea how to use it to find text.
Or am I making a big mistake? I heard hex editors can edit text, but... I'm just lost.
Any help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. --Schwa |
