Yes the ROM is 1 MB. I heard somewhere a while ago that I should have a 512kb (?) rom. I have NEVER found one this small. I never expanded my original Rom or anything so I guess I will need to search out another Rom. I only need 5 more levels and a LOT of sublevels to do and I will release a demo that hopefully works.

Right now I have come up with some wicked ideas that I sort of took from YI. I would perfer if no one else used this ideas as I have already got them in my hack.

I have an ExGFX file with poochi (the YI dog) replacing the mega mole. Then he can run across pirana plants bringing you over!

I have an ExGFX file with those flying creatures (they are the wisps or winds or something like that from YI. Im sure you know what Im talking about). They replace the torpedo teds and they fly across the screen

I have an ExGFX file with the stretched out shyguy replacing the Rex. The fat shy guy replacing the mega mole and when you jump on the rex to flaten him he turns into the small shy guy. I am aware that Luigi's Adventure 2 has the fat shy guy but I really couldn't think of anything else that would replace the mega mole.

Then I am working on a title screen that has mario standing in the center of the screen, with Luigi and Yoshi falling into holes. Thta is the plot, mario needs to rescue them

Lots more, but you'll have to wait for them. I also have a revolutionary level that I have never seen anyone else do before. Its very small because it requires ALOT of palette work, but it looks VERY cool IMO

I also have hand drawn goombas (Goombas Of The Lost Era) and new black dudes who jump (forgot there names) I am currently trying to make them into jumping melon bugs but its hard. I also have hand drawn bats replacing the swoopers

Edit 2:

I couldn't get the Good Snes to work right. I d/l it from AngelRoms (hope I can say that without a ban) and it opens fine. But what ever key I press makes a "program terminated" error

EDIT 3:

If someone I can trust not to rip me off with my hack wouldn't mind Locking and IPS patching my ROm, I could send it to you through Email right now.

For the poochy shot, I have the 16x16 editor showing because the ! blocks are pass/no pass blocks. You have to turn them on and off. At the moment they aren't animated because after reading the LM help file and the one in the noobie thread, I still dont understand it.

I've posted about this before, but it sounds like it might be useful to repeat it.

One way for a user to determine if the author's patch was made with a modified file instead of the original is to turn on LIPS' logging feature, then apply the patch and examine the log. If there are any "SE!" strings in the log, either you applied it to the wrong ROM, the patches in the file are out of order, or (99 times out of 100 with SMW if others are reporting the same problem) the author incorrectly used an already expanded modified SMW ROM to create the patch.

Given the SE! warnings in the log between 80200 and 100200, Keikonium's "original" ROM appears to already be 1 MB in size.

but... but... lol I haven't even got the first demo to work.... rats... I really wanted to try it... guess one week isn't tooooo long (unless someone who already got the demo to work would be willing to send it to me...

I will dowload Goodsnes and find out the real name of my ROM. I will alos wait about another half week or so to release a demo and I will probably have another world done. That way You can play about 13 levels instead of 7

Those look really neat...but, yes. I agree; the Switch Palace really should be hidden.

Can you tell us which name your ROM has (via GoodSNES) ?

I usually use the same ROM for every hack and never got proglems, usually the IPSes were bad, but not in that case

Same here, got the new hack also patched on my ROM; either using ZSNES' auto-patching feature or patching it via IPS-tool/LIPS doesn't helped at all.

AkenatensHope, it's possible you patched the wrong version of the rom. Or Keikonium used the wrong version to make the patch, I suppose.

EDIT: The same thing happened to me, and I know I used the correct version of the ron.

ummmm.... something wrong... when it opens the game and I press start, and it goes to the intro screen, and the graphics are all messed up.... and it kills me because there is no ground under me???



sorry its so small, (the screen shot)... can someone help? I know it works for other people so maybe someone could email it to me?

1: Holy crap! Besides the miscolored ship and the Yellow Switch, this is GODLY!
2: Add some textures to the windows and stuff.
3: Slowdown's sure to occur there, and the palette is odd.
4: Fine.
5: Keep it as the nipper plant.
6: The nipper seemed to have broke out in a strange way. Fix that.
7: Besides the palette issues on the stones again, okay. Just darken up the boosters.
8: Good.
9: The arrow is chopped...you'll have to manually add it. And the ledge on the top left is fugly.
10: Ghost-dark should not be used in non-haunted areas like this one. Just doesn't make sense.
11: The status bar is ignorable enough. Nice.
12: Just fix that pipe and ledge issue and you're all set!

There is my demo for my game. I forgot to do the Title screen so that will come in the next demo. The next one wont be out for a while because it will have two more worlds completed. So hopefully you like it and some comments would be great. I am definently working on animations, like one that will be needed in the first castle. I am still trying to understand how to create them.

Avoid mistyped apostrophes; in Germany already a couple of people (and even dealers, like "CD's ab 5 Euro" ) use them in a wrong way. Since "Goombas" is in used plural in here, remove that '

Basically the screens have nice ideas; although I assume having the difficulty in insane regions; like that screen with all the lava lotuses and the altered P-switch. Try to fix the glitches mentioned above and at least optically it will be great. But I'll wait for the demo and rate it overall after playing it

I am using the last palette (7 I think) for it. It changes palette depending on what level you just exited.

GOTLE stands for Goomba's of The Lost Era. I am trying to create cyborg goombas, (the round ones from SMW) and replace the originals...maby. I can't believe I didn't put thi in my first post!

The first few palettes (0-3... I think) are not able to be used on the overworld unless you use those same exact colors on the levels... in every level. Since those palettes are used for the foreground and background, it varies from level to level. Don't use them...

The Yoshi's Village is empty except for the houses, but that goes along with the plot. You need to rescue Yoshi and luigi. Some of you may remember Mario's missing, well now Luigi's missing

I am in the process of making the chucks ware scuba tanks and the flower fire be bubbles. That way fire in water looks better...

One really cool thing (IMO) that I am incorperating in my hack is level to similarities. The start and end of each level will look similar so its like transitioning into the next level. They will also be in a close pattern of morning, day, evening, night.

The right part of that land is fixed up. And I am leving the feather the way it is. I cusom designed that

The two things I can't fix are the status bar problem in the final two shots, and the right part of the arrow sign.

Edit:

BTW I will be releasing a demo tommrow. First a few shots, then after that a demo Unless some one wnats to test it out, then the demo will be out saturday.

Just one questions before I give my few comments. What does GOTLE mean? I think I must have missed it.

1st. Not bad... the yellow switch palace looks like it should be hidden. I think you darkened the paletes a bit... I like it.

2nd. Mmmm.... the door in the tree looks odd... and so does the window. Not much to say here.

3rd. I LOVE the new blue switch thing. It rocks!

4th. Nice yoshi coin

5th. Mmmm, not much to say here actually

6th. I dont know what is with the box block fad lately. I personally never liked the look, but I cant see anything wrong with it.

7th. Wow... confusing

8th. Actually looks a bit difficult from where the shot is taken

9th. The bricks are kinda weird... but the land is good... very textured

10th. Hmmm... transparent fire lotus

11th. Nice colors.

12th. Same as above.

It looks good... but I dont really partake to the status bar item box change ... kinda weird if you ask me.
