Yes. Yes you are.
Dennis
Dennis plays much like davis. They're equal in speed or at least neither is noticeably faster or slower. Dennis' best asset is a nice combo dealing quite a bit of damage that costs very little.
Common combos
A, A, grab, A, A, A, A, DvA
Costs 15 mana, does very good damage. It's the aforementioned combo.
D>A, A, A...
This is the basic energy blast combo. Not used a lot but it looks cool, so. 8 mana per blast.
D^A, turn, D^A, walk to opponent and A, A, grab, A, A, A, A, DvA
This is a fairly expensive combo but on the plus side it's fairly difficult to dodge. If it fails you can at least use the seeking blasts to cover you and get some attacks in while they try to dodge them, if done well the energy blasts will hit them while you're grabbing them for some extra damage.
Moves:
1.Energy Blast (8mp) Input method: D + > + A ( + A + A...)
Rating: 3/10
It's basically the same as Davis' energy blast but it's less controllable and comes out slower. It looks much cooler so I almost rated it 4 but then didn't. For tips, look at Davis' section.
2.Shrafe (15mp) Input method: D + v + A
Rating: 7/10
This does about the same amount of damage as Davis' Shrafe but with one key difference - it knocks the opponent down instead of up, so you can't use it to lead into anything. However, When you use it while grabbing the opponent it'll keep all hits unlike Davis', so it's got the same rating. You pretty much just combo into it, like Davis'. Nothing else to say.
3.Whirlwind Kick (15mp + ...) Input method: D + > + J
Rating: 1/10
Sure it gets a free combo which is stronger than the normal combo, but let's face it, this move sucks. It's rare you'll ever get to hit someone with it, and for what it does it's waaaaaay too expensive.
4.Chasing Blast (20mp) Input method: D + ^ + A
Rating: 5/10
This is like John's Energy Disk but it's smaller and one hit cancel it out. However, it's significantly less expensive, so it's fair. Can be used to distract the opponent and it's easier to hit them if they're busy dodging the blast or cancelling it, so.
His basic attack is fair, but comes out slower than I'd like. Just the same his best combo which really is easy to get off, costs very little, you can add an chasing blast before it to make it do a little more, and is just good overall. Basically, he plays like a miniature Davis - doesn't have as many combos but his combos cost less, and he doesn't have Dragon Punch or good air defense. So yeah, he's like Davis but worse overall though more cost-effective. |

whoa I seem to have forgotten about this topic =/
Anyway... John.
John's a fair char. Not great, possibly one of the worst, but he ain't bandit.
His best asset is his Heal Self move. Even in team battle, don't use Heal Others, if an opponent gets it it's just terrible. If you can keep away for awhile and heal yourself, wait to recover mana and heal yourself again you can last a drastically longer time. John's projectile is strong, but you can't shoot many of them quickly... He has fair normal attacks, however. You can chain a full normal combo into an energy blast against an inattentive player, or three attacks into an Energy Shield for fair damage with little mana lost.
Moves:
Heal (Myself) - 70 mana - DvJ
As I said, this is very good. Nothing else to say.
Heal (Others) - 70 mana - DvJ
Unless the person you want to heal is right friggin in front of you, avoid this.
Energy Blast - 15 mana - D>A
This is one of my least favorite energy blasts. Sure, it packs more of a punch than most, but it has no special effect and can't be rapidly fired.
Energy disk - 50 mana - D^A
Now THIS is useful. It costs a lot, but if you liek throw two out in opposite directions then start chasing the opponent, it practically guarantees damage will be dealt. It's a little on the expensive side for something that does so little, though... But you have to avoid it for quite awhile or hit it several times for it to go away, so I suppose it's worth it.
Energy shield - 20 mana - D>J
A three-hit attack up close, reflects minor energy blasts, stops major energy blasts, if the opponent runs into it they take damage, but you pass through it. What's not to like? A good combo ender. |

Wow. Big guide on a seemingly simple game. I still wish the online mode had a player search feature. |
