GIFs and PNGs are the only way I would ever even consider saving my sprites, jpegs have loss of colour unless they are big files, as I mentioned earlier. For some reason even the the bg is transparent, photoshop automatically sets a white bg when I save it as a GIF.
UPDATE: Ok, it has a transparent bg. I just had to set the Matte to "transparent" instead of white when I saved it. I also made some minor detail modifications in his quiver, but other than that he is virtually the same.

NO! Never EVER EVER save a sprite as a .jpg. Ever.
GIFs do allow transparencies.. |

Well I would have done that, I first saved it as a .PNG but suffered major loss of colour, for a jpeg to preserve that colour it would be about 12kb too big for something that small, and a BMP, well, it's a BMP, and GIF automatically saves with a white background |

What the hell?! If he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it, he shouldn't have to fucking lie to please everyone. What counts is criticism, you know, helping the artist out, which is something NEITHER of you did.
Anyway, it's a good start, but as you said you need to touch it up a bit. Try shading, and a less blinding shade of green for the character OR a different color eye. They don't go well together.
Also, just for presentation purposes, make the outside of the picture transparent. |

He's supposed to look like that and have a wirey comical appearance. I guess I was kind of aiming for a look between Mario and Luigi enemies and Warcraft 3. I will touch him up later, this is the first version. |

Here is a custom sprite I made from scratch. It's a little elf-impy archer guy. Tell me what you think. I think it turned out quite nicely, actually.
