I would, BUT when I recieved this PC, it came with a kick-ass subwoofer and speaker set, and I'm not to eager in replacing them!

Good Idea... I'll get a Y-Headphone adapter, and run a cable to the front! Thanks!

it is possible if both cards do not use the same IRQ number... sure in WinXP you can sure IRQs with other devices but you typically have one unique device for each IRQ (i.e. you don't have two video cards sharing the same IRQ). but anyways, a cheap solution is to buy an audio jack extension...then you could almost get that front jack feature...

I doubt that it would be possible to use both the onboard audio and the sound card at the same time. It's never worked successfully for me; it usually just results in BSODs, and little else.

And that kind of rewiring, while possible, would probaby void several warranties. It could also damage your hardware if you made any kind of mistake. So in short, that's not recommended.

Sorry, but you'll probably have to keep crawling under your desk to plug/unplug the headphone.
Or you could try to find one of the front panels that fit into a 5

When I recieved my new PC, I was pleased with the fact that it had a headphone jack on the front of the case. However, according to the dealer (which happens to be my brother) I can't use it since it only works with the onboard audio and right now I am using a SB Live 5.1 card.

What I would like to know is: Is it possible to use both the onboard and sound card at the same time? Is there a way to use the front jacks with my existing soundcard without any major rewiring? Or do I have to keep crawling under the computer desk to plug in headphones? It tends to be a bit tedius at times, especially since I don't wan't to keep a pair of $30 (Canadian $, btw) headphones on the desk all of the time. I've already had to repair them once because some stupid idiot (my other brother) knocked them on the floor!

Help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
