Guess where I stole the top of the water from and win absolutely nothing.
Oh, and the 'indoors' BG came from Wario Ware's final mini... it's the [well, almost] same as that [white and bright gray tiles] plus I needed filler. I might redo it with something more interesting later, I dunno. Door mabye? XD nah...
When I get home [whenever I do] I'll convert it to a GIF |

I still hate bmps.
I was reminded of Mario, actually, with the water and white and gray squares. NES game though. I see where the Megaman thing is coming from, with the floor and stuff, but it seems too simple to actually be of Megaman.
Like Silvershield said, the fact that the light changes on the water looks great. |

Cool!
You're not the first person to have said that, believe me Originally posted by Chaosflare thats pretty cool, but yea, whats with the name?
There's a name to this thing? Originally posted by jasukan Pretty neat, you should make the tiles in the water have more of a blue tint.
I don't see how you can get more of a blue tint to them, since it uses just shades of blue [255 blue = 120 lum, [that's the top], 90 lum for the middle and 60 for the dark [luminesence or however you spell it], it's all blue shades]Originally posted by Jarukoth Looks like a level to some old SNES game...not bad...
Considering that I worked with my 92+ and wrote a room-maker program of sorts [generated GB Zelda-ish rooms using a matrix with tile IDs, it's still on my 92+ [but the betaeditor isn't] Originally posted by Hiryuu I saw this thing evolve and I put my pointers in...so...I like how it turned out.
If you ever get back into SMB3/SMW hacking or start into it again or whatever...you ought to go through with graphics editing and get a level looking like that. (if at all possible)
It'll probably never happen, but ... well, there's always a chance Originally posted by Silvershield I like it a lot. I am especially fond of how the water in the darker half of the image is, in fact, darker, and how there is a thoughful little transition in the water's brightness where the dark and light sides meet. A logical and necessary detail, but outstanding nonetheless.
Thank Hiryuu for that one; I used to just have a simple 4-line shade gradient from the lighest shade to the darkest, it didn't look too good though...Originally posted by Millennium Neko That

Yeah. The title sucks, shut up, I know.
If you hate BMPs, shut up, this isn't my regular comp and I don't have a trusty GIF converter [or PNG for that matter] and pixel art as JPG = BAD.
So just live with it, it loaded in about 5 sec for me and I"m on dialup. |
