People keep bringing it up, so I keep repeating myself!
But, I am beginning to sound like a broken record, so I will take Yoronosuku's advice and stop.

And to everyone else: Let's try not to get into a 2D vs. 3D battle, please ._.;; we can all agree both types of games are amazing in their own right, so let's leave it at that. I've asked Snika to stop, so this should remove alot of the conflict in this thread. I appreciate it, you guys

Just because it is 2-D doesn't mean it is used.

2-D games will always be around, NetSplit. I'm saying that they shouldn't be for the Nintendo DS.

For instance, I recently bough Nintendogs and Advance Wars DS (and made posts about them). I enjoyed Nintendogs way more than Advance Wars DS. I felt that Nintendogs pushed the limits of the system and created a fun enviroment to play in.

Advance Wars DS felt like a 'used' idea. It tried to take advantage of the touch screen, and failed miserably. The 2-D feel compared to Nintendogs 3-D approach didn't fly with me. They could've done it in 3-D. They could've taken better use of the system.

I'm not saying 2-D games shouldn't be around. I'm saying that out of the majority of games I played for the DS, the 3-D ones were more fun for me.

The DS is soon being lowered to $100.

I think any smart person who wasn't buying just because of the size would most definitely shell out another ten dollars for something that plays another generation of [newer] games.

I mean, crap, if you're making a GBA Lite, make the price lower. Jeez.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Release a system for $150, lower the price by $20 10 months later, and then lower the price another $30 a few weeks later. Say what?

And Snika, seriously, stop posting. Your comments about 2D are ridiculous. You want it entirely phazed out because any system capable of 3D should have exclusively 3D games (and since the GBA CAN do 3D, maybe all of its games should be 3D, too?). It really seems like you're having trouble seeing the merits of both types of games, and for that I reiterate my earlier statement of "you probably shouldn't be playing games."

Wow! That's completely ridiculous if its true. I mean, if you spent $50 more dollars, you could get yourself a much more power system, the DS! And sense that is soon going to be lowered to $100...

Well that'd render the Gameboy Micro useless!!! They should make it $50.

Looks like this is another cost-cutting measure...

Although I'm still disappointed that the GBµ won't be able to play my old GB(C) games.

It makes perfect sense that the GBA Micro doesn't support GBC/GB games. First, as other people have pointed out, GBA Micro is more of a lite version of the GBA.

Second, when the GBA first came out, there weren't many games. That was probably why GB/GBC compatibility was added, because you could still buy new GB/GBC games in shops. Now, there are very few (if any) shops that sell new GB/GBC games, because there isn't any.

Squash Monster: There is a version of Age of Empires coming out for the DS.

As long as the DS's somewhat limited library is already part of the topic, could anyone tell me if there are any released or anounced RTS games for the DS? The stylus easilly makes it the best system for the job short of a computer, so I'm wondering.

(If there aren't any, I think Nintendo should assign one of its own development groups to the task instead of waiting for a third party to get around to it. There are lots of RTS fans out there and Nintendo is the only company capable of offering a good handheld game for them.)

As I don't have a SP anymore, I was looking forward to a the new GBA System for GBC Games, small, handy, Game Boy. But alas, it's not for me. But for new players.

The Game Boy Micro is for Casual gamers, that may be also a reason why Nintendo releases it on the 17th September.
I don't know what games NOA will release on the same day, but NCL will release Super Mario Bros. again, also a Dr.Mario & Panel de Pon (Tetris Attack) compilation for GBA, both for a mere 2000 Yen (About 20 US$). And Mario Tennis Advance.

The sentence "Get a better System for only 30 Bucks more" stinks, cos for 30 US$ I could get a game, so many may buy a GBM and one Game.

That's what I'm hoping, anyways...I hate that sterotype that Nintendo has. They say the games are kiddy without giving half of them a chance. I'm actuly going to stick up for Pokemon here for being an AMAZING game through the years...even the ones I didn't particularly care for were pretty damn good. I mean the main games, the spinoffs to this date have always been a little eh. Some other good games include Yoshi's Island (yes I actualy know people who refused to play it because it looked "kiddy" )

However, that is not to say that any game that was madei n 2D for the DS is any less of a game just because it didn't utalise 3D capabilities.

Haha, okay, my dectector has been fixed. Anyways, thats how I feel about things, Keitaro. I just think more 3D games should be made, so that a 2D game every once in a while is a fun surprise. The stereotype for handheld games is childish 2D games, but Nintendo (and the Sony PSP) could break that sterotype!

Here's what I'm trying to say...

If the system can do 3-D, do it.

I love the GBA 2-D games, because thats whats expected of the GBA. The DS is capable of 3-D worlds, the GBA is not.
I love 2-D games, don't get me wrong. But there's a time and place for everything.

Edit: Just read Colin's message. I am very excited about The New Mario Bros, 'caz it combines elements of 3-D with 2-D sidescrolling. Was the first part sarcasm?

We want 3-D!

Nice to hear that you're speaking for the tastes of all gamers there.

3D's fine, but not every game has to be in 3D and not every game is *best* in it either. Off the top of my head, you have the new Mario game and Castlevania both coming out, both of which should be very good and both of which are... yup... 2D.

That's exactly what she means its people like you who dont APRECIATE the 2d games on the DS, which is the exact reason the GBA is still being made as a platform where people like you will actualy give 2D games a chance

I hate your attitude.

You're basicly saying "2D is shit".

Have some respect for 2D games. Sure 3D is great and all, but having both rocks.
