He actually means CVS, or concurrent version system (something like that).
It's a source code repository, where many developers can contribute to the code. You can download stepmania in two ways; either by a pre-compiled package or by getting the source itself and compiling it yourself.
Of course, it's easier (and cheaper) to compile on Linux...but enough bragging.

Get the Dancing Stage mixes, especially DS: Unleashed". As the licenced tracks kick arse (Blondie! Ian Van Dahl! Size of a Cow!)
Stepmania... SVC? What the hell is that? |

6th and 8th mix you'll get a lot out of...however there is one on the DDRUK site that has a link to BANTU Originals...that isn't a half bad pack of songs...it's not exactly as difficult on Heavy as some of the other ones you'll find in the official mixes (MAX 300, PARANOiA Survivior/MAX, etc.) but it does get enough of a run for me at least... |

Elmo linked to a huge bittorrent of video game music a while ago, with movies and shite and everything, but that's all I can remember, really - all I have is the arcade mixes so I can't mention much |

I really like 6th Mix, and most of 3rd mix. If you need tunes, I've got the connections |

B4U seems to be good for beginners, it's what I started out with. You can also get some other stuff like Max 300. They have some stuff on gaming music even which is great. |

They should come with Stepmania SVC It's what I always use.
Also, get the Plaguemix series, DDR Extreme (8th), 7th, 5th, and 4th. Just my opinion, though. |

To be honest I find it a bugger getting any themes to work. I have some announcers which work, but my DDR-Extreme one doesn't which ticks me off.

It's basically a DDR emulator-simulator. |

Um...I'd like to help you out there Trashy, but I don't know what Stepmania is. Would you please care to elaborate for us unenlightened n00bs? |

OK, first off, DO NOT POST SONG LINKS. If I need a song, I'll either find it myself or through contacts, or PM ya. I have tons of songs as it is.
That said, if you have any cool crap (Announcers, Dancers, etc.) do share, I'd be most greatful. Perhaps greatful enough to make more announcers? Maybe a theme? Who knows. |
